Credit Card Overlimit Coverage

Emergencies are unpredictable, so you may want the assurance that you have extra resources available. If you would like Sunward to allow you to exceed your limit, government regulations require that you opt in to this service.

Over-the-limit coverage will allow you to exceed your card's credit limit by up to 10% of your credit line. The over-the-limit fee is up to $25 per billing cycle and is charged only if your account is over the limit at the time your monthly statement closes. If you stay within your credit limit or you pay the balance down before your statement closes, the service costs you nothing. If you exceed your limit by less than $25, the fee will equal only the amount you go over the limit.

To opt in, log in to online banking and click the Member Services widget, call 505.293.0500 or 800.947.5328, or visit any branch.

Please allow at least three business days for your over-the-limit coverage to be activated.
