Sonic Card Breach

Sonic Drive-In has acknowledged a breach of their payment systems affecting approximately 3,600 locations across 45 U.S. states. Sources have reported the potential sale of millions of stolen credit and debit card accounts showing up on cyber-based crime stores on the dark web.

Sunward Card Services has not yet received Visa or Mastercard notifications linked to this breach, nor do we know data breach time frames. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide more information as it becomes available.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?

  • If you used your Sunward Debit Card at Sonic, monitor your account closely using CU@home® Online banking or On the Phone.
  • If you used your Sunward Credit Card, monitor your credit card activity using the Credit Card eStatements, Payments & Disputes link in CU@home Online. Call us at 505.293.0500 or 800.947.5328 immediately if you notice any fraudulent activity and need to report your cards as Lost/Stolen.
