Meet Hill Martinez-Uribe, Durango Branch Manager

Hill brings a wealth of experience to the credit union’s first expansion into Colorado.

Hill Martinez-Uribe, the branch manager leading our Durango team, has the resume of a leader. Hill began their career as a personal banker, learning to meet the needs of members and deliver excellent service firsthand. A rising star in the industry, Hill quickly moved from the frontline to branch management before shifting to commercial lending. There, they assisted a team of loan officers managing multi-million-dollar portfolios. Now, Hill is bringing these talents and more to Sunward as our pioneering branch manager in a new region.

Hill’s experience serving the community over the years and witnessing the everyday money challenges people face has given them a passion for financial literacy and improving access to better banking solutions. They are a fierce advocate for members, no matter their situation—and it was precisely this heart for the wellbeing of others that made Hill the perfect fit to lead the Durango team.

“I am always excited about meeting the members of the communities we serve,” said Hill. “As employees of Sunward, we are not only tellers and financial service consultants—we are the people they turn to when big life changes occur. I want my team and I to be a support system the community of Durango can turn to whether they’re experiencing life-changing events or just have questions about everyday transactions.”

Out-of-office, you can find Hill enjoying a good book, doing home renovation projects with their wife, and spending time in the garden.
