If a skilled, passionate team is the key to an organization’s success – and we believe it is – then the hiring manager may be one of its most important players. Lily Currin is Sunward’s talent acquisition manager and one of our all-time MVPs.
We were fortunate enough to capture a little of Lily’s time in her busy schedule to see who and what inspires her, why she enjoys working at Sunward, and more.
What would you say is your work "superpower"?
My work superpower is resilience – the ability to adapt, problem-solve, and lead with confidence, even in the face of challenges.
What's one thing you enjoy about working at Sunward?
I love the culture of innovation and collaboration, where new ideas are encouraged, and everyone is empowered to contribute to meaningful progress.
March is Women's History Month. Are there any undervalued/underrated qualities you believe women bring to the workplace?
Absolutely – emotional intelligence, mentorship, and a holistic approach to leadership are often underestimated yet crucial for fostering strong, supportive, and high-performing teams.
What advice would you give women starting out in their careers?
Own your voice and embrace challenges. Seek mentors, advocate for yourself, and never shy away from opportunities to lead and grow.
Name a woman who inspires you and why.
My mentor, Angie Vanardale, inspires me because of her fearless leadership, dedication to empowering others, and ability to break barriers in her field – paving the way for future generations of women.
