In 1948, Sandia National Laboratories employees just like you wanted a place to conveniently and securely access their money. They envisioned an institution that consistently put innovation, technology, and (most importantly), people first. Shortly thereafter, Sunward was established.

75 years later, Sunward has grown to more than 140,000 members and over $3.7 billion in assets. Sunward has branches in Northern and Central New Mexico and in Livermore, California to best serve Sandians and their families. While much has changed over the years, one thing remains the same: the strong partnership between the Labs and Sunward.

We're here to help our members. As a local, not-for-profit credit union, Sunward can offer better rates and low or no fees on savings and checking accounts, auto loans, home loans, and credit cards because we do not focus on making profits and paying stockholders. Instead, we use our earnings to lower loan rates, raise savings rates, and reduce or eliminate fees.
