In the wake of catastrophic flooding across the Four Corners Region in New Mexico and Colorado, Sunward Federal Credit Union has activated a member assistance program while donating $10,000 to support recovery efforts across the region.
Heavy rainfall across the Four Corners in late October caused significant flooding, impacting thousands of homes and businesses and affecting over 17,000 Sunward members in San Juan County, New Mexico, and La Plata County, Colorado.
Communities in Santa Fe were also affected by an EF-1 tornado, which damaged at least 10 homes and caused more widespread impact by harming power poles and uprooting trees.
In response, Sunward has activated its Member Assistance Program for affected members in both the Four Corners region and in Santa Fe. The program, available to Sunward members, includes:
- Relief Loans for up to 3 months net pay.
- Waived penalties for early Term Certificate withdrawals.
- Waived non-sufficient funds and penalty fees for overdrafts.
- Skip a payment on a signature loan or auto loan.
- Loan modification on mortgages.
- Increasing Courtesy Pay Limit to $2,500.
