Skip-A-Pays are processed in 1 business day regardless of how you request it. We recommend applying online as that is the quickest way to submit your request.

To request a Skip-A-Pay for a Sunward signature loan or auto loan, your loan must be current. No other documentation is required.

Sunward will respond to your loan extension request within 2 business days to confirm receipt and request any additional documentation (if needed). Actual approval date depends on several factors, including when additional documentation is received. We suggest applying for help as soon as possible to allow for adequate processing time.

A loan extension allows you to skip a payment for up to 4 months on consumer loans, as well as fixed rate and adjustable rate mortgages. Loan extensions are subject to review and approval.

Sunward’s Relief Loan allows members to borrow up to 3 months of their net pay with no payment required and no interest charged for 90 days. After the 90 days, interest on the borrowed amount will be calculated based on the member’s credit score, and members will be expected to begin making payments. Once you submit your loan modification request, a Sunward representative will reach out and ask you to provide the following documents:

• A completed and signed Borrower’s Assistance Application.
• Detailed Hardship Letter addressed to Sunward explaining the financial hardship.
• Copies of 2 of your most recent pay stubs showing year-to-date earnings (if you are a W2 employee).
• A completed quarterly or year-to-date profit and loss statement (if you are self-employed).
• Award letter stating the amount, frequency, and duration of Social Security, disability or death benefits, pension earnings, adoption assistance or public assistance and bank statements for 2 months showing receipt of payment (if applicable).
• Signed copies of 2 years of the most recently filed federal tax returns including all schedules for self-employed individuals only.
• Copies of 2 of the most recent personal bank statements.
• Credit report for all borrowers.

When applying for a Relief Loan, please ensure you include verification of net pay from a recent pay period. You can upload this with your application.

Your commercial lender will inform you if there is any additional documentation required.

For help with loans outside of Sunward, consider applying for a Relief Loan, which can provide you with up to 3 months of net pay (interest-free for 90 days), which you can use to continue making payments on external loans. Sunward is waiving penalty fees for early Term Certificate withdrawals, account overdraft fees, and non-sufficient funds fees for up to 2 months.
