Sunward Launches 'Sunpint' Through First-of-its-Kind Collaboration with Tractor Brewing Co.

Local brewery crafts new cider in partnership with Credit Union, to be celebrated at community event this month.

ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO, October 8 – Sunward Federal Credit Union today announced the launch of Sunpint, a new initiative aimed at creating and celebrating community through unique partnerships with local breweries.

Sunward launched Sunpint in collaboration with Tractor Brewing Co., a local brewery with a long history of community engagement.

Together, they created Sol Cider, a craft cider that evokes the feeling of fall sunshine. Tractor incorporated ingredients like lemon and lavender to align with Sunward’s bright and bold brand identity — and it’s already wowing the tastebuds of Burqueños. In its first small-batch debut, the cider sold out within hours.

“When Sunward reached out about collaborating to create a brand-new drink, we knew we had to do something special,” said David Hargis, the Owner and Head Brewmaster of Tractor Brewing Co. “Sol Cider combines a flavor that’s naturally tied to Albuquerque—lavender—with a lemony-citrus flavor that tastes like sunshine to create a cider that appeals to everyone.”

Sunward members, Tractor fans, and the Albuquerque community will have a chance to try Sol Cider at its premiere event October 22, hosted from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Tractor’s Wells Park location at 1800 4th St. NW.

One dollar from every pint of Sol Cider sold during the event — across all Tractor locations — will benefit Saranam, an Albuquerque nonprofit that supports families experiencing homelessness through holistic housing, food, education, and training programs.

“We’re incredibly excited about the opportunity to build community and grow our program through this partnership with Sunward and Tractor,” said Tracy Weaver, Saranam’s Executive Director. “We know sustainable, affordable housing is an issue both Sunward and Tractor care about deeply, so this feels like a perfect way to deepen those relationships while supporting our own work.”

“At Sunward, we’re reimagining how a credit union shows up for its community — not just through banking, but through meaningful connections that bring people together,” said Sunward Executive Vice President Alex de la Cruz. “Sunpint is one small example of that: it blends local creativity, community partnership, and purpose. Collaborating with Tractor Brewing and supporting Saranam reflects our belief that doing good and doing well belong together — and that’s what makes New Mexico special.”

Sunward plans to provide more details on its next Sunpint partnership in the coming months.
