Sunward President and CEO recognized as part of Women We Admire’s 2024 rankings.
ALBUQUERQUE, NM, October 1 – Steph Sherrodd, Sunward (Sunward) President and CEO has been named to The Top 50 Women Leaders in New Mexico for 2024 by Women We Admire, a publication dedicated to recognizing the achievements of exceptional women across industries.
Sherrodd joined Sunward in January of 2022 with more than 25 years of credit union experience, coming from Houston, TX, where she served as President and CEO for Texas Dow Employees Credit Union from 2012 to 2021, helping to grow the organization to assets of over $4 billion with 345,000 members. At Sunward, Sherrodd developed and is leading the implementation of Vision 2035, a long-term strategy to establish Sunward as the economic engine for communities in the Southwest with a central focus on member experience.
“It’s an honor to be named alongside so many other incredible women leaders,” said Sherrodd. “I take tremendous pride in leading Sunward on its journey to redefine the cooperative spirit in finance, and to provide better banking options across the Southwest.”

Sherrodd was born and raised in Green River, Wyoming. She is a proud graduate of the University of Wyoming, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Marketing, as well as a Master’s in Business Administration. She is currently serving as a board member for Origence, LLC. She was named to the Credit Union Executive Society (CUES) Hall of Fame in 2019 after serving as a CUES board member and former board chair. In addition, she served as a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Community Depository Institution Advisory Council.
