John Kapuranis joined MEMBERS Financial Services*, the team that provides robust financial and investment planning services to Sunward members, in April 2023. His journey into the financial sector began in 2014 after graduating from the University of New Mexico. We asked John about why he enjoys working in the financial services field.
Q: What interested you in the financial industry?
A: Interestingly, in my ECON 202 class at UNM, we watched the documentary “Inside Job,” which explained how the 2008 financial collapse happened. After watching that documentary and seeing how millions of people were affected with job and home losses, I became intrigued by the financial industry’s complexities and ethical considerations. I’ve always had an interest in the stock market and how money truly works in the world, which inspired me to pursue a career as a financial advisor to help people make informed and ethical decisions.
Q: What is your favorite part about being a Financial Advisor?
A: I enjoy helping people navigate through tough financial decisions, plan for their retirement savings, and make investing choices to pursue financial freedom. I also love to help others and be top of mind for them to reach out to me if they are seeking help. The biggest compliment of all is word-of-mouth referrals from others – it truly makes me happy to know I've helped someone to the best of my ability.
Q: What are a few great reasons why Sunward members should check out MEMBERS Financial Services?
A: MEMBERS Financial Services is an excellent resource that Sunward offers to its members and employee because we can offer valuable insights into financial planning and investing in the stock market that may not be readily available through other institutions. I encourage members to talk with an advisor to address any questions or concerns they may have about these sometimes complex or intimidating topics. Your first consultation with an advisor is always free and under no obligation to continue. We are here to offer insights and advice for any questions you may have.
