Inspired by the “pocket neighborhood” concept popularized in the Pacific Northwest, Rembe Urban Design + Development approached us to understand how to finance this housing model in New Mexico. It was a perfect partnership from the beginning, aligning with our goal of creating much-needed housing that also fosters a sense of community.
The project came to life with Griegos Farms—a first-of-its-kind development in New Mexico consisting of 90 free-standing cottages and casitas. Pedestrian paths encourage interaction between neighbors while community gardens, sustainable water features, and shared green spaces draw residents outdoors, supporting a healthier lifestyle.
The effort and attention to detail expressed throughout Griegos Farms didn’t go unnoticed. In December 2025, the project was recognized with the NAIOP Awards of Excellence Eagle Award in the Specialty Living category, a testament to the development’s superior workmanship, design, and execution.
