Sunward Federal Credit Union announced today that it will open a new branch in Uptown Albuquerque this fall.
The Uptown branch is the latest in a series of expansions for Sunward, as the Credit Union’s footprint continues to grow. Uptown joins the newly opened South Valley branch and a forthcoming West Side location as recent investments in communities across Albuquerque.
Located at 2201 Louisiana Blvd. NE, Suite G, the 3,356-square-foot branch will open for business this fall, with an anticipated soft opening in November ahead of a grand opening later this year.
Uptown, once open, will be Sunward’s 14th branch in the greater Albuquerque area, including locations in Los Lunas, Edgewood, and Rio Rancho.

Uptown is a bustling commercial hub home to well-known shops, restaurants, and community spaces — including Winrock Town Center, where the Sunward Amphitheater at Winrock Park hosts performances and local events like the 'Live at Winrock' concert series and artisan market.
The new branch will offer elevated in-person banking access to this growing community. Its design includes four distinct service areas where branch staff can directly assist people in private spaces, as well as a rotunda lounge and greeter station.

Sunward opened a new branch in Albuquerque’s South Valley late last year and in February announced another Albuquerque-area branch, set to open on the West Side near the intersection of Ladera Drive and Coors Boulevard in September.
In May 2025, Sunward expanded into Colorado for the first time, opening a branch in Durango.
Beyond physical locations, Sunward has expanded its products and services — including a revamped business banking suite, a convenient new way to set up direct deposit, and a unique Power Money Market Account that offers highest dividends on the lowest amount deposited, up to $2,500.
Official Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening dates for the Uptown branch are forthcoming.
